Pixar’s ‘LUCA Behind The Scenes Look has been released.

Pixar’s ‘LUCA Behind The Scenes

Pixar’s ‘LUCA Behind The Scenes – Luca, Pixar’s next feature, will be released in June (at this time, it appears that Luca will follow the Soul plan and be available to Disney+ subscribers, but as we’ve seen over the last year, anything can change). We received a sneak peek at around 30 minutes of the (gorgeous-looking) picture, which introduces us to Luca, a young teen sea monster (voiced by Jacob Tremblay) who lives off the shore of an Italian fishing village and is cautioned by his family about the perils of ever stepping on land. Luca does, however, venture onto land when he meets Alberto, another young sea monster. And Luca learns from Alberto that once they’re on land, their sea monster appearance fades and they appear to be human young boys.

Pixar’s ‘LUCA Behind The Scenes

We chatted with Luca director Enrico Casarosa and producer Andrea Warren before of the film’s release. Casarosa previously helmed the Pixar short film La Luna. They provide an early glimpse into Luca’s inspirations, many of which stem from Casarosa’s own youth and a slew of great films, like Stand By Me. They also give us a behind-the-scenes look at how Pixar movies are created these days. And it’s evident that since Pete Docter came over as Pixar’s president, things have changed dramatically in terms of the films the company produces.
