Randy Orton had been absent from WWE television since late June, putting a halt to his RK-Bro team’s progress with Riddle. Orton made his return on Monday night’s episode of Raw, and he had to deal with Riddle’s zeal all over again. In the night’s main event, Orton battled AJ Styles, putting Orton and Riddle one step closer to a SummerSlam Raw tag team title showdown against champions Styles and Omos. Despite Orton nailing his teammate with a show-ending RKO, it was the post-match that grabbed the headlines, with Orton and Riddle seemingly formally reunited.
Randy Orton made his return to Raw with an in-ring promo at the start of the show. Riddle rushed to the ring and asked Orton if they were going to resurrect their RK-Bro tag team. Before AJ Styles and Omos came to the ring, Orton shot Riddle down, saying he works better alone, before Styles challenged Orton to a main event match before a melee involving all four. The tale continued all night, with Orton refusing to reassemble the squad and Riddle stating that it would happen soon.
