Andrew Garfield & Daisy Edgar-Jones starring ‘Under the Banner of Heaven‘ will debut on Hulu in 2022. The crime limited series follows a devout detective, whose faith is tested as he investigates a brutal murder that seems to be connected to an esteemed Utah family. The miniseries will air on FX on Hulu and is based on the book of the same name by Jon Krakauer.
Under the Banner of Heaven follows a devout detective whose faith is tested as he investigates a brutal murder that seems to be connected to an esteemed Utah family’s spiral into LDS fundamentalism and their distrust in the government. Garfield is set to portray the role of Pyre, an LDS elder who is committed to his Church and family but begins to question some of the Church’s teachings through his contact with a suspected murderer. While, Edgar-Jones will Brenda, a young faithful Mormon who is the victim of a brutal murder.
The series is created by Dustin Lance Black, who won an Academy Award for writing Milk starring Sean Penn, and will be directed by David Mackenzie. Dustin Lance Black created the series and executive produce along with Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Samie Kim Falvey, and Anna Culp for Imagine Television.
