The debut date for HBO’s upcoming miniseries, Scenes From a Marriage, has been revealed. It is an adaptation of a Swedish series that ran in the early 1970s.
Hagai Levi (The Affair) wrote and directed the series, which revisits Ingmar Bergman’s classic original picture, throwing new light on love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the perspective of a modern American couple. watch the trailer below.
Mira (Jessica Chastain) is a self-assured, ambitious computer businesswoman who is dissatisfied with her marriage, and Jonathan (Oscar Isaac) is a scholarly, tolerant philosophy professor who is trying to save their relationship.
Scenes From a Marriage explores Jonathan and Mira’s full complexity as individuals who realize their marriage isn’t being torn apart by any single event or flaw, resulting in a radically honest series that allows the audience to listen in on private conversations between two people torn between feelings of hate and love.
Oscar Isaac (Star Wars) and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) are the actors who embody their protagonists. The cast is completed by Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), Corey Stoll (The Strain), and Tovah Feldshuh (Yentl). Check out the new poster below.
