Scoot McNairy joins Amy Adams in Marielle Heller’s ‘Nightbitch’

Scoot McNairy has joined the cast of Marielle Heller’s ‘Nightbitch’ alongside Amy Adams. The film follows, a suburban mom who was thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler. As she embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.

According to Variety, McNairy will play the role of Adams’ husband in the film. The film is directed by Marielle Heller with her own script, adapted from Rachel Yoder’s debut novel.

Nightbitch is produced by Megan Ellison, Heller, Anne Carey, Adams, Stacy O’Neil, Christina Oh, Adam Paulsen, and Sue Naegle. Heller and Brewster work under their Defiant By Nature banner, while Adams and O’Neil are repping Bond Group. Carey attaches via Archer Gray Productions. Sammy Scher and Havilah Brewster are executive producers.

Scoot McNairy is known for his roles in Monsters, Argo, Killing Them Softly, 12 Years a Slave, Gone Girl, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he also starred in AMC period drama Halt and Catch Fire, True Detective, Narcos: Mexico, and the Netflix western miniseries Godless.

Nightbitch will stream on Disney’s DTC platforms as a Hulu Original in the U.S.
