Shadow And Bone top in Nielsen’s weekly ranking of streaming viewership in the U.S, pulling in 1.2 billion total streaming hours in the period from April 26 to May 2.

Stranger Things’ 21 Laps Entertainment is producing Shadow and Bone, an eight-episode series based on Leigh Bardugo’s blockbuster novels.
Nielsen evaluates just Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney+ through a TV set, delaying results by nearly a month due to a deal with streaming providers. According to the measuring agency, Shadow and Bone drew in just under 1.2 billion total streaming hours from April 26 to May 2.

From The 39 episodes, The Handmaid’s Tale clocked in at 1.04 billion hours. Only the first three episodes of the current season were released online in the first week, and additional episodes are released one by one on a weekly basis.

In its first days of streaming, Netflix’s well-received animated film The Mitchells vs. the Machines racked over 516 million minutes of watch. Things Heard & Seen, a Netflix horror film, garnered 434 million minutes, good for third place in Nielsen’s all-movie rankings but not in the top ten.
