Spider-Man 4 starring Tom Holland is said to be under secret production at Marvel Studios and Sony. Tom made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, before launching his own solo series with Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. Holland is set to wrap up his solo trilogy this month with the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is expected to have the year’s biggest box office opening. After appearing in a couple of Avengers films and 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland is set to wrap up his solo trilogy with the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is expected to have the year’s biggest box office opening.
Holland is expected to reprise his role as Peter Parker in another MCU team-up film as part of the current Disney-Sony deal. Producer Amy Pascal stated that the studio intends to do another Spider-Man trilogy featuring Tom Holland, but nothing has been formally confirmed or scheduled as of yet. Though, if the newest claims are to be believed, Holland appears to be staying with the MCU for the foreseeable future.

The unique Sony/Disney partnership on Spider-Man in the MCU has worked brilliantly. Far From Home grossed $1.1 billion while Spider-Man: Homecoming grossed $880.1 million globally. No Way Home is set to be the franchise’s biggest smash ever, with early ticket sales surpassing those of Avengers: Endgame. Despite the fact that the box office is still recuperating from the COVID-19 epidemic, with numbers remaining much below where they were in 2019, No Way Home appears to be an outlier in the present filmgoing climate. Given all of this, it’s no surprising that the studios are interested in continuing the series. Spider-Man is still one of the most famous Marvel characters, and fans have grown to appreciate Holland’s take on the role.
As the MCU evolves post-Endgame, franchise mainstays like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers have spoken their goodbyes. Holland has solidified his Peter Parker as a fitting successor to those departed founding heroes over the last several years, giving Marvel a familiar face to stay around while they continue through Phase 4 and introduce new characters. Holland has shown interest in departing the Spider-Man role in the near future, but it appears that he still has a couple of films left in him. Of course, no one will know where Spider-Man 4 will take place until after No Way Home is released.
