Finally, Star-Lord and Gamora have been reunited. Chris Pratt‘s Peter Quill and Zoe Saldaña‘s Gamora are seen together in a new image from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Gamora, played by Saldaña, was last seen in Avengers: Endgame, where she joined in the film’s final fight before disappearing. In Vol. 3, the Guardians are reuniting. As we already know, Quill and Gamora are in their final moments. Have a look at the picture below here.
Directed by James Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars an ensemble cast featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Gunn, Maria Bakalova, and Chukwudi Iwuji. According to Gunn, Rocket has always been one of his personal favorite characters. “He was just fine being an animal, and he was transformed into something else he didn’t want to be,” Gunn told EW. “I think that transformation itself was extremely painful, but I also think it made him feel incredibly alienated from everyone else. In Vol. 3, we learn a lot about his past — where he came from, who he is, and what he’s been through. It’s been a difficult road for the little animal.”
During an interview, Saldaña told, “It’s bittersweet; after all those years of complaining about that green make-up, I find myself already nostalgic about it.” She added, “There’s a lot of melancholy here, but also pride that we’ve achieved something great. James Gunn has written a beautiful story, that’s making us emotional even as we shoot it.”
According to Marvel, the plot synopsis follows,
In Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 23rd, 2023.
