The Animated Sequel Series ‘Tom and Jerry in New York’ Is Coming to HBO Max

The iconic animated duo will be pitching up in the Big Apple for an all-new set of madcap adventures in a new animated series Tom and Jerry in New York, which will premiere on HBO Max on July 1. As the title suggests, the iconic animated duo will be pitching up in the Big Apple for an all-new set of madcap adventures. The show follows the arch-enemies as they adjust to their new surroundings in the Royal Gate Hotel before getting involved in some wild activities all throughout the town. Darrell Van Citters of Renegade Animation will direct the entire series and serve as a producer with Ashley Postlewaite of the studio, with Warner Bros. Animation head Sam Register credited as an executive producer. The production also includes Cartoon Network Studios.

Tim Story’s live-action/CGI hybrid premiered in theatres and on HBO Max concurrently this past February, grossing over $118 million at the box office, a decent return given the epidemic era’s standards. A domestic opening weekend of $14.1 million is still one of the bigger first frames in the recent fifteen months or so, indicating that the perennial enemies still have a fan base.
