Ranging from “I’m intrigued” to “I need a cold shower.”
Whether your definition of “sexy” involves sweet, slow romantic kisses, or two (or more) people throwing each other around in a fit of passion, there will be a film depiction of your fantasy in 2020. While there are certainly some pretty epic (and even some very feminist) pornographic movies that fit the bill, you can also meet your personal sexy movie quotient at the theater or, thanks to the streaming wars, from the comfort of your own home.
Note: Many of these movies have been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic, so we’ve updated the release dates accordingly. This means, unfortunately, that some of the movies will be or have been pushed back to 2021. But we’ll keep the films on here since they were originally slated for 2020.
‘A Rainy Day in New York’
Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, Jude Law, Diego Luna, and Liev Schreiber
‘After We Collided’
Starring: Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, Louise Lombard, Dylan Sprouse, Candice King, and Charlie Weber
Why it’s sexy: This sequel to last year’s romantic coming-of-age drama is based on Anna Todd’s hot and heavy, One Direction fan fiction-inspired After series. Plus, rumor has it that After We Collided will push the envelope further than After, going all in for an R rating instead of toning things down to fall safely in the realm of PG-13.
‘FIFTY SHADES OF FREED’
Starring : Dakota Johnson: Anastasia Steele; Jamie Dornan: Christian Grey; Rita Ora: Mia Grey; Luke Grimes: Elliot Grey; Marcia Gay Harden:
Believing they’ve left behind the shadowy figures from the past, billionaire Christian Grey and his new wife Anastasia fully embrace their inextricable connection and shared life of luxury. But just as the Greys begin to step into their new roles, sinister events come to light and jeopardise their happy ending before it even begins.
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Mary Steenburgen, Victor Garber, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, and Dan Levy
Why it’s sexy: Even though no trailer—not so much as a single image, in fact—has been released for this sure-to-be-instant-classic, we could not be more excited for this holiday rom-com starring Kristen Stewart as a woman who plans to propose to her girlfriend.
