‘The Boys’ has been Renewed for a Season 4

Amazon has been renewed ‘The Boys’ for a Season 4. The announcement came a week after the Season 3 premiere. The Boys series is developed by Eric Kripke. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under its Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment.

The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered individuals called Supes are recognized as heroes by the general public and work for a powerful corporation known as Vought International, which markets and monetizes them. Outside of their heroic personas, most are arrogant, selfish, and corrupt. The series primarily focuses on two groups: the Seven, Vought’s premier superhero team, and the Boys, vigilantes looking to bring down Vought and its fake superheroes.

According to Prime Video reports, in the first three days since Season 3’s June 3 debut, the worldwide viewership for The Boys has grown by +17% from season two, and +234% from season one.

“From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder—an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television, Amazon Studios. “This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that.”

“There is absolutely the possibility,” Sanders said. “We were excited when we launched. We thought there was a two-fold opportunity with Diabolical. One was to get The Boys fans excited about and get it out early. But we also wanted to see if there was another bite of the apple once the mothership show returned, and we are seeing real engagement and growth of the show there. We’ve definitely had conversations with the producers about what the next installment would look like.”
