The Duffer Brothers Will Be Developing a Live-Action adaption of ‘Death Note’

The Duffer Brothers will develop a new live-action adaption of ‘Death Note’ for Netflix. According to Deadline, creators Matt & Ross Duffer, who created Stranger Things has committed multiple new deals with Netflix.

The live-action series adaptation of Death Note is in development at Netflix, the Japanese manga and anime series was originally written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata.

Death Note focuses on a bright teenager who discovers a mysterious black notebook that gives him supernatural power over life and death, the latter caused by writing a person’s name in the book. The teen becomes intoxicated with power as he decides to cleanse the world of undesirables, as a law enforcement team tries to stop him.

In 2017, Netflix made an adaptation that is entirely different from the original.

The Duffer Brothers is now in a few weeks off, they are set to begin writing the final season of Stranger Things in August.
