Tony Jaa, Megan Fox, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson are also newcomers to the franchise. Scott Waugh, who helmed Act of Valor in 2012 and Need for Speed in 2014, will direct the new Expendables film. The next Expendables is set to begin production in October.

The script was written by Spenser Cohen, with Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly revising it. The specifics are being kept under wraps, but it will once again centre on a gang of seasoned mercenaries. While Stallone was the main character in the first two films, which were released in the early 2010s, insiders claim Statham will be the one with the largest gun in this sequel. Fox is the female protagonist.

‘Bringing these actors together for a no-holds-barred action picture is so much fun.’ The stakes will be raised in the next film, which will be the largest, baddest adventure yet.’
