Tony Jaa confirmed that The Expendables 4 has wrapped filming in his Facebook Post. The Expendables 4 has been in the works since 2014 when the third installment of the franchise was released in theatres. However, by 2017, Sylvester Stallone had reached a creative standoff with Lionsgate and had left the film, bringing with him several of his friends and co-stars. Thankfully, Stallone made a comeback in 2018, but development has been slow in the years afterward, with multiple pauses and starts. Randy Couture, a member of the cast, confirmed in April 2021 that The Expendables 4 is still in the works, with a fresh version of the script being written and tentative plans to begin production in the fall of 2021.
So far, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture have been confirmed to return for Expendables 4. Megan Fox from the Transformers film, rapper/actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa are among the new cast members for Expendables 4. Iko Uwais, who played the main villain in The Raid, is maybe the most intriguing new addition. Terry Crews, on the other hand, does not appear to be attending. After Avi Lerner, a franchise producer, insisted that he dismiss sexual assault charges against Hollywood agent Adam Venit, he rejected to return. Jean-Claude Van Damme has also openly shown interest in portraying the identical brother of his Expendables 2 villain Jean Vilain. The Expendables 4 release date is not yet announced. watch Jason Statham in the shooting spot below.
