Logan Paul outlasted Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the greatest boxers of all time, for eight rounds. Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson was knocked out in a boxing ring rather than on the football field by a tremendous strike. Two further competitive fights concluded in a split decision and a finish, respectively, for the sport’s purists.
The pay-per-view boxing match between Mayweather and Paul on Sunday featured a little bit of everything, and it lived up to its description as a money-making extravaganza aimed at the general audience rather than a serious fight between Mayweather and Paul.
Both Mayweather and Paul stated in the lead-up to the fight that they wanted to amuse the audience. Mayweather, 44, faced a physically larger opponent in Paul, 26, who weighed 341 pounds more and stood 6 inches taller. However, Paul, who rose to stardom thanks to social media, had lost his sole professional battle. Mayweather had won each of his 50 fights. Because of the experience gap, many people predicted that Mayweather would defeat Paul. Throughout the eight rounds of boxing, though, Paul kept latching his frame onto Mayweather. Despite this, Mayweather was able to score shots and pursue Paul without using much energy. Because there were no judges in the event, no winner was announced.
