Netflix released the trailer for ‘The Good Nurse’ starring Jessica Chastain. The crime thriller is based on Charles Graeber’s 2013 book of the same name. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2022. Watch the trailer below.
The Good Nurse synopsis follows, “Amy (Jessica Chastain), a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. But help arrives when Charlie Cullen, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit. While sharing long nights at the hospital, the two develop a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly has faith in her and her young daughters’ future. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth.”

The film stars Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren, Eddie Redmayne as Charles “Charlie” Cullen, Nnamdi Asomugha as Danny Baldwin, Noah Emmerich as Tim Braun, and Kim Dickens.
Directed by Tobias Lindholm from a script penned by Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Darren Aronofsky and Scott Franklin are producing. Speaking to Empire, Wilson-Cairns told “I was adamant I wasn’t going to write another serial-killer movie,” she admits. But with The Good Nurse, she was able to explore the wider implications of what made Cullen’s killings possible. “It’s about systems failing people,” she says. “In this case it’s healthcare systems, but systems failing us is very universal.” Ultimately, she found a medical metaphor for what Cullen did. “The most terrifying thing about this story is that you could replace Charles Cullen with a virus. He’s this entity that wants to kill, and he was passed on from place to place.”
