The first official promotional poster for The Lost Daughter has been published by Bim Film Distribution. The film will be shown at the Venice International Film Festival in a competition in 2021. Maggie Gyllenhaal makes her directorial debut with the film, which is based on Elena Ferrante’s novel “The Dark Daughter.” She also wrote the screenplay. Olivia Colman, who will portray the heroine Leda, will be joined by Dakota Johnson, who will play Nina, in the cast. Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jack Farthing make up the Lost Daughter cast.

The synopsis of The Lost Daughter: Leda (Olivia Colman) is attracted and charmed by a young mother and her little kid as she observes them on the beach while on a solo vacation. Leda is troubled by her own personal recollections from the early stages of motherhood, as well as their compelling bond (and their boisterous and frightening extended relatives).
