The Mandalorian Grogu and Mando’s heartfelt departure has been immortalized in a beautiful hand-painted Mandalorian statue, in addition to on-screen. Five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, the Disney+ series takes set in the Star Wars world. After the first half of the series, Pedro Pascal portrays a bounty hunter who is tasked with caring for “The Child,” a creature of the same species as Yoda, before his true identity is revealed to be Grogu.

Din Djarin/The Mandalorian (Pascal) hunts Grogu down and delivers him to the Empire on a job in episode 1 of the critically acclaimed space Western before changing his mind and saving the boy. Din Djarin shields the youngster from other bounty hunters, and the pair create a friendship. Season 2 pushes The Mandalorian’s characters closer to their separate fates while adding various Star Wars tale themes. In episode 13 of season 2, Mando discovers that Grogu is a Jedi who was saved from the Jedi temple during his people’s persecution. The Mandalorian season 2 finale aired at the end of 2020, and it ended with an emotional farewell amongst the show’s key protagonists, as Grogu said his goodbyes.
