Hong Chau has been cast alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes in ‘The Menu’. The psychological thriller follows a young couple who visit a restaurant on a remote island where a chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu.

In Searchlight’s black comedy The Menu, Hong Chau will star with Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes. Mark Mylod, who was a key figure in the success of HBO’s Succession, will take the helm. Betsy Koch will produce via Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries brand.

The film is a dark, humorous psychological thriller about a young couple who visit an elite restaurant on a secluded island where a famous chef has prepared a delicious tasting menu. The script was written by Will Tracy and Seth Reiss. The studio will be overseen by Searchlight Senior Vice President of Production DanTram Nguyen and Production Manager Zahra Phillips.

Chau, who is most known for her highly praised portrayal in Downsizing, has been quite busy this year, having recently wrapped filming on Darren Aronofsky’s forthcoming picture The whale, in which she co-stars Brendan Fraser. She is currently starring in Kelly Reichard’s next film, To Show Up. She recently appeared in HBO’s short series Watchmen and the second season of Amazon’s Back home.
