HBO Max announced on Wednesday that all 12 Season 1 episodes of Gary Janetti’s animated parody on the royal family would be released at midnight (PT) on Thursday.
The Prince stars Janetti in the titular character and is described as a humorous take on the imagined inner workings of the royal family via the perspective of an animated Prince George. Orlando Bloom portrays Prince Harry, Alan Cumming portrays George’s butler Owen, Frances de la Tour portrays Queen Elizabeth, Lucy Punch portrays Kate Middleton, Condola Rashad portrays Meghan Markle, Iwan Rheon portrays Prince William, Dan Stevens portrays Prince Charles, and Sophie Turner portrays Princess Charlotte.
The series, which was inspired by Janetti’s famed royal-skewering Instagram account, was set to premiere in the spring. The death of Prince Philip on April 9 forced HBO Max to postpone the debut indefinitely. A spokesman for the streamer told THR at the time, “We were sorry to learn of Prince Philip’s demise and will alter preparations for the series launch.” “We will announce a new date at a later point.”
