The Proud Family is celebrating its 20th anniversary, also revealed that the reboot series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2022.
“The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” will continue the saga of Penny Proud and her eccentric family, which includes her parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and grandma Suga Mama (and Puff!). Of course, Penny’s faithful crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez, and Zoey Howzer, among others, would not be “The Proud Family” without them.’
The cast includes Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Maria Canals-Barrera as Sunset Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez.
Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins is played by Keke Palmer, Randall Leibowitz-Jenkins is played by Billy Porter, Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins is played by Zachary Quinto, and Michael Collins is played by EJ Johnson.
Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Chance the Rapper, Normani, Debbie Allen, and Olympic Gold medalist gymnasts Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Dominique Dawes will be among the star guests at The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
The original series, which aired on Disney Channel from 2001 to 2005 and lasted just two seasons and a movie, lasted only two seasons and a movie.
