The Runaways starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart is now started streaming on Hulu. The biographical film is based on the book Neon Angel: A Memoir of a Runaway by the band’s lead vocalist Cherie Currie. The film had a limited release in the United States on March 19, 2010.
The Runaways synopsis follows, “Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning), two rebellious teenagers from Southern California, become the frontwomen for the Runaways — the now-legendary group that paved the way for future generations of female rockers. Under the Svengalilike influence of impresario Kim Fowley, the band becomes a huge success, with Joan as the band’s hard-rocking heart, and Cherie as the sex kitten. However, the teens’ stormy relationship threatens the band’s future.”

The film stars Dakota Fanning as Currie, Kristen Stewart as rhythm guitarist and vocalist Joan Jett, and Michael Shannon as record producer Kim Fowley. it grossed around $4.6 million worldwide with a limited release.
