The Son starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, and Vanessa Kirby‘s first international trailer will be drop tomorrow (October 15). The news came from Jackman’s social media account with a couple of trailer shots. The film had its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival and received mixed reviews from critics. Check out the new images below.
According to Sony Pictures Classics, “The Son” plot follows, “A couple of years after his parent’s divorce, 17-year-old Nicholas no longer feels he can stay with his mother, Kate. He moves in with his father Peter and Peter’s new partner Beth. Juggling work, his and Beth’s new baby, and the offer of his dream job in Washington, Peter tries to care for Nicholas as he wishes his own father had cared for him. But by reaching for the past to correct its mistakes, he loses sight of how to hold onto the Nicholas in the present.”
Directed by Florian Zeller from a script he co-wrote with Christopher Hampton. The film stars Hugh Jackman as Peter Miller, Laura Dern as Kate Miller, Vanessa Kirby as Beth, Zen McGrath as Nicholas Miller, George Cobell as young Nicholas Miller, Hugh Quarshie, and Anthony Hopkins as Anthony Miller.
Joanna Laurie, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Zeller, and Christophe Spadone are producing. Sony Pictures Classics will distribute the film in the United States, UGC Distribution in France, and Embankment Films will distribute internationally.
The Son will hit theaters on 11 November 2022.
