“Avatar: The Way of Water” has grossed more than $1.7 billion globally. According to Variety, the film has earned $1.708 billion worldwide, surpassing Jurassic World ($1.67 billion) to become the seventh-highest-grossing film in history.

“Avatar” ($2.9 billion), “Avengers: Endgame” ($2.79 billion), “Titanic” ($2.2 billion), “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($2.069 billion), and “Avengers: Infinity War” ($2.04 billion) are the only five films in history to cross the $2 billion mark. Avatar: The Way of Water, directed by James Cameron, was released in the United States on December 16, 2022. The film became the sixth-fastest film to reach $1 billion in box office gross. The film grossed $517 million in North America and $1.19 billion worldwide.
The cast of “Avatar: The Way of Water” includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, and Matt Gerald, who reprise their roles from the first film, as well as Sigourney Weaver. Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, and Jemaine Clement have joined the ensemble as newcomers.
