Sony released a behind-the-scenes for the upcoming live-action film Uncharted featuring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Tom teases the film’s Uncharted story, action, location, characters as a popular video game franchise.

For the better part of a decade, Uncharted was stuck in development for years. Ruben Fleischer, the director of Venom, was revealed as the director of the film in 2020, with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man) composing the screenplay. The film was shot throughout 2020 and will be released in theatres on February 18, 2022, following many delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Uncharted will follow Tom Holland as fortune hunter Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and will serve as a precursor to the games. The film will star Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle, and Sophia Taylor Ali as Chloe Frazer, Nathan’s love interest in the games, and will center on their early experiences together. Sony debuted the first footage from the film at CinemaCon earlier this year, with Sully at an auction, Nathan entering a cave-like location, and then falling out of a cargo plane, all of which are evocative of the video game franchise. watch the behind-the-scenes below.

Cinemablend reported Nolan North is complimentary of the new trailer, feeling that the dynamic between Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as his mentor Sully is handled perfectly. And while the ages might be very different, as both characters are much younger than they are seen in the games, ultimately, as long as the relationship is the same, it will likely make fans of the games happy.
