Spider-Man star Tom Holland had to turn down the role of Lance Corporal Tom Blake in Sam Mendes’ 1917 due to scheduling conflicts with the Chaos Walking reshoots and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The role eventually went to Dean Charles Chapman. The film grossed $384.9 million worldwide over a $90–100 million budget.
‘1917’ plot follows, “During World War I, two British soldiers — Lance Cpl. Schofield and Lance Cpl. Blake — receives seemingly impossible orders. In a race against time, they must cross over into enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 of their fellow comrades — including Blake’s own brother.”
