Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick has blipped Avengers: Infinity War‘s $678 million collection record at the North American box office. Maverick marked $679 million and become the 6th highest grossing film of all time at the domestic box office.
On 13 August, Top Gun: Maverick grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2022, the second film released during the COVID-19 pandemic to gross $1 billion. A (-21.3%) drop occurred last Friday. The film is eyeing a 5M-5.5M 13th 3-day weekend.
On Rotten Tomatoes the film scored a 97% critics score and 99% audience score. The film is the highest-grossing film of Cruise’s career.
The top 5 global rankings are Avatar ($760 million) at 4th place, Spider-Man: No Way Home ($804.7 million) at 3rd, Avengers: Endgame ($858.3 million) at 2nd, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens at 1st position.

Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise will be released on digital platforms on Tuesday, August 23. On DVD/Blu-Ray will release on November 1. Over 110 minutes of bonus content will be included.
