Prepare to wait even longer if you’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of Sony’s Morbius, the film about a vampiric Spider-Man adversary. The film has been postponed until October 2022, according to a recent interview with ComicBook.com. In addition, the film will reportedly be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During an interview with Comic Book, Tyrese Gibson, who plays Simon Stroud in the forthcoming film, said that the project has been delayed even more. “They simply moved [Morbius] to October because they want to capitalize on that Halloween spirit,” Gibson stated. “It’s going to be a long year, dude, with a lot of magic occurring out here.”

Gibson was also questioned twice if the Morbius film was indeed a part of the MCU. He said yes twice, which is a significant piece of information.
