Picking up more than a year after the events of the first Venom, which hit theatres and dominated the box office in 2018, Venom: Let There Be Carnage finds investigative journalist Eddie Brock struggling to adjust to his new life after becoming bonded with the mysterious alien symbiote known as Venom, which grants him superhuman abilities in order to be a lethal vigilante. Cletus and Carnage, who are covered in spikes and tentacles, have a completely different notion of what to do with their newfound power than Eddie and Venom, compelling the anti-heroic duo to work together once more to rescue the planet.

In terms of future adventures, Hardy recently stated that he is already planning a third installment for the crusading journalist and his human-eating companion. “I’m thinking about the third movie as well,” the actor added of Venom 3, “because I think you need to script it at the same time.” “A third won’t be approved until the second is a hit, but the studio was ecstatic with number two.”
