Vin Diesel Recalls Dwayne Johnson To Join In Fast & Furious 10

Vin Diesel Recalls Dwayne Johnson

Vin Diesel requested Dwayne Johnson to join the Fast Family.

Vin Diesel has taken a step in resolving his feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson by posting on Instagram about how important he is to him and his family and how he “must show up” for Fast & Furious 10.

Vin Diesel wrote “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

On the set of Fate of the Furious, Johnson and Diesel famously feuded, and the two never recorded a sequence together. While Johnson left the main series, Universal Pictures saw an opportunity to keep one of Hollywood’s greatest performers happy while extending one of its most successful franchises by developing a spin-off feature, Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw. Hobbs & Shaw has a sequel in the works, which will hopefully prolong the Fast & Furious franchise once the main series concludes.

Johnson stated in July 2021 that he will not be repeating his role in Fast & Furious 10 or 11. Johnson wished the actors and crew of the next films the best of luck but said the sequels will be done without him. While artists like Tyrese Gibson have stated that their dispute with Johnson is resolved, Diesel’s statements earlier this summer suggested that there was still some bad blood between the two stars. The conflict is a “sensitive issue,” according to Ludacris, who also appears in the Fast & Furious franchise.

With a 2023 release date, the movie would have to start shooting in 2022, and Johnson already has a lot on his plate, including a sequel to Jungle Cruise and a possible sequel to his forthcoming DCEU picture Black Adam. If Johnson does decide to return for Fast & Furious 10, he may have a lesser part than fans may think, perhaps along the lines of a cameo or a one-scene walk-on for the film’s conclusion. For many Fast & Furious fans, seeing the two stars bury the hatchet and see Luke Hobbs and Dominic Torreto as a family once more would be a welcome homecoming.
