Wednesday Addams: Catherine Zeta-Jones To Join Addams Family

Wednesday Addams

Catherine Zeta-Jones is going to become frightening. The Oscar winner has been hired as Morticia in the upcoming Netflix series Wednesday Addams.

The “Chicago” actress will feature opposite Jenna Ortega and Luis Guzmán in the eight-episode series. Wednesday will be played by Ortega, and Gomez Addams, Morticia’s husband, will be played by Guzmán.

The character of Morticia Addams has been played by a number of well-known actresses in the past. Carolyn Jones played the role in the 1960s TV series, but most people today would remember Anjelica Huston’s depiction in 1991’s The Addams Family and its sequel, Addams Family Values. Daryl Hannah took up the role for the Addams Family Reunion in 1998, however, it was not well received. The Addams Family, a 2019 animated film starring Charlize Theron, was the most current iteration of the characters, and while it was an animated picture, Charlize Theron provided Morticia’s voice. Zeta-Jones, who has previously been in films such as Chicago and The Mask of Zorro, as well as more contemporary television series such as Prodigal Son, will have the opportunity to stamp her imprint on a character that has captivated viewers for decades. On Wednesday, further information on the initiative will be published as it progresses.
