Yorgos Lanthimos says his upcoming film ‘Poor Things’ starring Emma Stone will feature original music from an up-and-coming mystery artist. The film is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray.
Yorgos Lanthimos told Popaganda that “I did not know how to use [music] in my cinema, at least not in the way it is now used. I do not want the music to be descriptive or to restate the meaning of the scene, but to complement it, as art and as language. In “Vlichi“, I consider that the music is neither descriptive nor underlining. ” He also revealed that in his next feature film, the film adaptation of the novel Poor Things, original compositions of a rising name will be heard.
The ‘Poor Things’ follows,
A frankenstein-esque tale set in the Victorian era, a tale of love, discovery, and scientific daring. Poor Things tells the incredible story of Belle Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by an eccentric but brilliant scientist. Starring Emma Stone as Belle Baxter, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Godwin Baxter, Ramy Youssef as Max McCandless, Mark Ruffalo as Duncan Wedderburn, Jerrod Carmichael as Harry Astley, Christopher Abbott as Sir Aubrey de la, Pole Blessington, Margaret Qualley, Suzy Bemba, and Kathryn Hunter.
The release date is not yet announced for ‘Poor Things’.
