Jenna Ortega recalls how the rigorous filming schedule for “Wednesday” caused her to cry uncontrollably. Ortega said she didn’t get enough sleep and ripped chunks of her hair out. She made a ridiculous number of FaceTime calls to her father, during which she sobbed uncontrollably.
Speaking to a Netflix-hosted Q&A panel in Hollywood (Via Variety), Ortega discussed her weird moments while filming “Wednesday.” She said, “It showed up two hours early, do that 12–14-hour day, then go home and then get on Zoom and have whatever lesson that I had.”
She continued “Or show up to my apartment; my cello teacher was already waiting for me.” Ortega added, “It was just constantly going, and if you could on a weekend if we weren’t shooting the sixth day that week, it was ‘All right, well then, we’ll get your lessons in on that day.’”
“I did not get any sleep. I pulled my hair out,” Ortega said. “There’s so many FaceTime calls that my dad answered of me hysterically crying.” added, “I didn’t know where my hands were even supposed to go and then I had to make two cellos come out of one cello, which was ridiculous.”
Ortega’s hard work and efforts were never unseen. She was recognized for her work in the industry by being nominated for awards at both the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild.
The “Wednesday” series has been renewed for a second season. Season 1 is available on Netflix.
