Following the milestone 25th anniversary of the series, ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ next year, Nickelodeon has renewed its flagship animated series for a 15th season consisting of 26 episodes.
In the new season, the incurable optimist SpongeBob, along with Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, and Squidward, will embark on more nautical adventures. This season will mark a total of 345 episodes and counting since the show’s launch in July 1999.
The voice cast of SpongeBob SquarePants includes Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks, and Mr. Lawrence as Plankton.
SpongeBob SquarePants was created by Stephen Hillenburg. It started on May 1, 1999, and became very popular. The main character is SpongeBob, a happy sea sponge who lives in a pineapple. He works at the Krusty Krab, a fast-food place owned by Mr. Krabs. His best friend is Patrick Star, a starfish, and he annoys his neighbor Squidward Tentacles. The show is famous for its humor, characters, and underwater world in Bikini Bottom.
Deep down in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom lives a square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants. SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying. When he’s not getting on the nerves of his cranky next door neighbor Squidward, SpongeBob can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Patrick, or his thrill-seeking surfer-girl squirrel pal, Sandy Cheeks.
Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller serve as executive producers for SpongeBob SquarePants and its spin-offs, The Patrick Star Show and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years. The production is supervised by Nickelodeon’s Claudia Spinelli, who holds the position of SVP Animation for Big Kids, and Kelley Gardner, who is the VP of Current Series, Animation.
As of now, SpongeBob SquarePants has 14 seasons, and you can watch it on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon if you have cable TV.
