Marvel Studios spent four years developing Kahhori’s episode in ‘What If…?‘ Season 2. The episode, now streaming on Disney+, is earning high praise for its quality.
Ryan Little, the creator of Kahhori for Marvel Studios, revealed on Twitter that he dedicated four years to writing Kahhori’s story, investing over 10% of his life into the project.
Little said, “It’s been four years since I started writing Kahhori’s story. I put over 10% of my life into the project, but nothing got me ready to see so many folks excitedly sharing her real Mohawk name alongside all the other Marvel heroes. This Christmas is going to rock.”
Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman, found that the Tesseract transformed a lake in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy into a gateway to the stars. This discovery led her on a quest to unlock her newfound powers. Exposed to the Tesseract’s energy at the Forbidden Lake, Kahhori absorbed cosmic energy from the Space Stone, enhancing her physical abilities to superhuman levels.
Devery Jacobs Open to Bringing Kahhori to Life in the MCU
Devery Jacobs voices Kahhori in the animated ‘What If…?’ Season 2 episode. In an interview with Collider, Jacobs says she would love to play a live-action version of Kahhori in the MCU. She said, “I would love to be able to bring [Kahhori] to life, whether that’s live-action or whether that’s through animation. I’ll always be there for that.” She added, “I don’t know; they’ve brought other people back in multiple roles. So I leave that up to the higher-ups at the MCU.”
