Taylor Swift Considers Legal Action Over Deepfake Website

Taylor Swift is heartbroken over the recent AI image leaks.

Swift is considering legal action against a deepfake website that circulated explicit AI images of her, as confirmed by Daily Mail.

Social media is united in support of Swift, with her fans, the Swifties, launching campaigns and using hashtags such as “PROTECT TAYLOR SWIFT” and “RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT” to express their unwavering solidarity.

PROTECT TAYLOR SWIFT. RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT.”

Who Leaked Taylor Swift’s AI Images?

According to the Daily Mail, the mysterious website Celeb Jihad, which Swift warned in 2011 for posting fake topless photos of her, is said to be behind the recent fake AI images. The site is known for creating realistic deepfakes and has also shared explicit photos of other celebrities. The person running the site is unknown, and the About page has a spoof bio for someone called Durka Durka Mohammed. Speculation about the true identity varies, from a Dr. Evil-like figure in a secure compound to a less impressive individual causing trouble from a basement.

As reported by Vice, Companies like OpenAI, Meta, and Microsoft try to stop bad content with filters, but it’s hard. These filters block users from making harmful stuff. The problem is, that the systems are trained on big datasets with images taken from the internet without permission. For instance, the LAION dataset used for AI training had over 3,000 explicit child abuse images. AI researchers saw this coming and warned about it for years. Also, it’s easy for people with some knowledge to change AI models and make harmful images.

Recently, Swift has just made history on Spotify as the first female artist to achieve over 100 million followers.
