Recently, A24 shared a teaser for ‘MaXXXine,’ showing Hollywood’s transformation into MaXXXine.
According to reports, Mia Goth reprised her role as Maxine, now in 1985, aiming for fame in Hollywood after the events of ‘X.’ Lily Collins co-stars, Elizabeth Debicki directs, and Giancarlo Esposito plays Maxine’s agent. The story revolves around a Hollywood-set horror sequel titled ‘The Puritan 2,’ where Maxine becomes entangled in a series of murders connected to the Nightstalker. Detectives, played by Bobby Cannavale and Michelle Monaghan, work on the case, while Kevin Bacon appears as a corrupt private investigator. Watch the teaser below.
Directed by West. The film will be the third and final installment in the X trilogy, following X and Pearl. The film also stars Debicki as a film director, Moses Sumney, Monaghan as an LAPD detective, Bobby Cannavale as an LAPD detective, Collins, Esposito as an agent for the adult film industry, and Bacon as a private investigator.
The film is described as “over-the-top gore” and a homage to Dario Argento and the Giallo genre, as confirmed by a recent test screening in Burbank, California.
In an interview with Variety, Goth said that the script for MaXXXine is the best one yet in the X trilogy, and she believes it will be the best movie of the three. She also expressed excitement about reuniting with the cast and crew for the third time and the shorthand they have developed with each other. According to Goth, the new film will have the highest stakes and the biggest story of the trilogy, with Maxine’s character having gone through a lot and now being a force to be reckoned with in a new world, where she will go through some wild adventures.
