Searchlight Pictures has announced the release date for Marielle Heller‘s ‘Nightbitch,’ starring Amy Adams. The horror thriller follows a woman who is convinced she is turning into a dog.
When will ‘Nightbitch’ be released in theaters?
‘Nightbitch’ will hit theaters in the United States on December 6, 2024, by Searchlight Pictures.
On Twitter (X), Searchlight Pictures shared, “6-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams stars in NIGHTBITCH, written and directed by Marielle Heller, novel by Rachel Yoder. In theaters December 6th.”
Directed and written by Heller, the film is an adaptation of the 2021 novel “Nightbitch” by Rachel Yoder. The film also stars Scoot McNairy, Ella Thomas, Garrett C. Phillips, Mary Holland, and Zoe Chao.
The film follows a stay-at-home mother (Adams) who begins to embrace the inherent feral power that comes with being a parent. When her husband travels for work, the unnamed lead character is isolated in the suburbs with only her two-year-old son for company. Soon, she starts to become convinced that she’s slowly turning into a canine and eventually seeks help to hide her feral alter ego from a mommy support group.
Produced by Megan Ellison, Marielle Heller, Anne Carey, Amy Adams, Stacy O’Neil, Christina Oh, Adam Paulsen, and Sue Naegle. The production companies involved include Searchlight Pictures, Annapurna Pictures, Bond Group Entertainment, Defiant by Nature, and Archer Gray.
