Netflix’s ‘One Piece‘ has been renewed for Season 2 following the successful run of its debut season, and we have confirmed that filming is scheduled to begin this month (June). A report we received indicates that Seasons 2 and 3 are reportedly being filmed back to back.
‘One Piece’ Seasons 2 and 3 Will Be Having a Back to Back Filming
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Brashaad Mayweather, who plays the role of Patty in ‘One Piece’ Season 1, says that ‘One Piece’ is going to “film seasons two and three back to back.”
Mayweather said, “We’ll see if they flashback to its because they’re filming two seasons – season two and three – back to back starting soon. So we’ll see what happens.”
Season 1 is the No. 1 show in 86 countries, breaking its previous record of 84 countries. It also outperformed “Stranger Things” Season 4 and “Wednesday,” which were ranked No. 1 in 83 countries. Also, it debuted at the top of Netflix’s Weekly Global Top 10 with 18.5 million views (140.1 million hours), making it the highest-ranking English TV series since the chart reform in June 2023. Currently, it holds the title of the most popular TV show on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes.

‘One Piece,’ a live-action series based on Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, is a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, with Netflix overseeing physical production. The show is written and executive produced by Steven Maeda, with Matt Owens. Additionally, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, along with Eiichiro Oda, the manga’s author, are executive producers.
Recently, Deadline confirmed that Joe Tracz will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner of ‘One Piece’ Season 2. He will work alongside returning Season 1 writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner Owens. Steve Maeda, who developed the series with Owens and served as Season 1 co-showrunner, remains an executive producer.
‘One Piece’ Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
