MCU stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, alongside Halle Berry, are set to star in Bart Layton‘s Crime 101, an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novella of the same name.

Published in 2021, the novella Crime 101 follows detective Lou Lubesnick as he tries to solve a series of jewel heists, pursuing a meticulous thief who operates by a strict set of rules known as “Crime 101.”
Directed by Layton — who co-wrote the screenplay with contributions from Peter Straughan — Layton previously wrote and directed the 2018 heist movie American Animals, which starred Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, and Ann Dowd.

Here’s the plot synopsis for Crime 101:
A series of high-level jewelry thefts up and down the Pacific Coast Highway have gone unsolved for years, primarily because the perpetrator has lived by a strict code he calls Crime 101. Police attribute the thefts to Colombian cartels, but Detective Lou Lubesnick’s gut says it’s the work of just one man. Now the lone-wolf jewel thief is looking for that fabled final last score and Lou breaks all the rules of Crime 101.
The cast of Crime 101 includes Hemsworth as Davis, a jewel thief, Ruffalo as Detective Lou Lubesnick, along with Barry Keoghan, Berry, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Payman Maadi, and Babak Tafti.
