A24 has released the first trailer for Opus, starring Ayo Edebiri as journalist Ariel Ecton. Ariel learns that Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich), a famous musician who disappeared from the spotlight years ago, is making a comeback. She is invited to an exclusive event at his luxurious home but soon discovers that things are not what they seem. Watch the trailer above.
Directed by Mark Anthony Green in his feature directorial debut, the film stars Edebiri as Ariel Ecton, Malkovich as Alfred Moretti, along with Juliette Lewis, Rosario Dawson, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Young Mazino, Stephanie Suganami, Tony Hale, Tatanka Means, Melissa Chambers, Aimee McGuire, and Chris Highlands.
Here’s the plot details for Opus:
A young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.

Opus is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2025, before its theatrical release on March 14, 2025, by A24.
