Coyote vs. Acme has been saved by Ketchup Entertainment after Warner Bros. shelved the film for tax incentives in 2023.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has officially completed the sale of the live-action/animated hybrid film Coyote vs. Acme. Ketchup Entertainment has confirmed its acquisition of worldwide rights, with the deal valued at approximately $50 million.
In a statement, Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said, “We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide. Coyote Vs Acme is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
Directed by Dave Green from a screenplay by Samy Burch, Coyote vs. Acme is a live-action/animated hybrid film. It is based on the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote and the Acme Corporation, as well as Ian Frazier’s 1990 article in The New Yorker.
In the live-action cast, Will Forte portrays Wile E. Coyote’s lawyer, while John Cena plays the role of the Acme Corporation’s lawyer. Other cast members include Lana Condor and P.J. Byrne. In the voice and animated cast, Wile E. Coyote, a silent character planning to sue Acme Corporation, is voiced and animated, alongside the Road Runner, who perpetually outwits Wile E. Coyote.
Ketchup Entertainment, an independent distributor, recently oversaw the theatrical release of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after Warner Bros. Discovery chose to sell the film.
Coyote vs. Acme is now set for a theatrical release in 2026.
