The filming for Scary Movie 6 has officially wrapped in Atlanta, Georgia, and has entered post-production, as confirmed by a note from the Wayans family to the cast and crew of the project.
On the thank-you note, it reads:
“THANK YOU TO ALL THE CAST AND CREW.
Everyone’s individual efforts have led to one funny-ass movie. I hope these f***, p***, and pre-rolled v**** make you all puff your chests out with pride, knowing that us not giving a f*** will give the world a much-needed laugh.

Directed by Michael Tiddes, with a screenplay by Rick Alvarez, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Marlon Wayans, and produced by Rick Alvarez, Neal H. Moritz, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans, while Jonathan Glickman and Alexandra Loewy serve as executive producers.
During her appearance on Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, Regina Hall opened up about why she decided to reprise her role as Brenda Meeks in Scary Movie 6 and hinted at certain details about the sequel’s story. “I read the script — and it was really funny,” she said. “I knew what they were intending to do. I always think a work of art is in flux until it’s done and in someone’s hands — you just never know. But the original cast coming back was exciting. Having the Wayans involved again, and Anna Faris too — Brenda can’t live without Cindy. And she’s no better a friend to Cindy this time than she was before, even though they’re still best friends.”
The returning cast from the earlier Scary Movie films includes Anna Faris, Hall, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Elliott, while newcomers joining the franchise are Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke.
In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Wayans revealed, “We’re excited for this venture. We’re bringing everybody back — me, Anna, Regina, Shawn. The world needs a laugh right now. Perfect time.”
Wayans said, “It feels great. It feels like I missed you — I missed you. It feels like Scary Movie is kind of like, you know, Scary Movie 1 and 2. I don’t think people understood when we did Scary Movie 1. Me and my brothers, we rarely smell the roses. We rarely receive our flowers, and we don’t give them to ourselves. It’s not us to say, ‘Look at what we’ve done.’ It’s always in hindsight — man, we did that. When we did Scary Movie 1, it opened with $42.3 million in a weekend, and I remember sitting at Cape Manolete’s with me, Shawn, and Keenen, and we cried because we made history. It was the first time we really acknowledged it — that was the highest-grossing film written and produced by a team of African-Americans, directed not just by an African-American director, but for a comedy director. And now, we’re excited for this venture. We’re bringing everybody back — me, Anna, Regina, Shawn.”
Scary Movie 6 will hit theaters on June 12, 2026, by Paramount Pictures.
