Note: This post contains potential spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
A new leaked rumored plot detail for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveals that the film begins with the arrival of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom in Earth-616.
According to scooper MAJESTIC, the Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene continues with Doctor Doom meeting Reed Richards, where Doom is already active and ahead of everyone. Reed Richards believes Galactus was the biggest threat, but Doom quickly shuts that idea down.
Galactus was only a symptom. Incursions are the real disease. Doom explains that entire universes are crashing into each other, collapsing beyond repair. No amount of heroism can stop it.
Reed listens because he has no choice. Franklin Richards is already involved, already targeted, already important. Doom doesn’t ask for help—he offers clarity. And Reed, desperate to protect his son, accepts the deal.

That decision leads straight to Earth-616. As the Fantastic Four’s ship enters Earth’s atmosphere, Wakanda’s defenses activate. An unknown ship. Strange multiversal energy. Talokan senses it too. This isn’t random. This is the first sign of Doom’s plan reaching Earth.
Wakandan and Talokan forces gather in the desert, not to attack but to observe. Shuri and M’Baku move forward as leaders and protectors. From a distance, Namor watches from ancient ruins. He already feels something is wrong. He doesn’t trust arrivals. He trusts patterns.

The ship lands and Ben Grimm steps out first. This is not accidental. The Thing isn’t there to fight. He’s there to disarm. Friendly. Honest. Familiar.
His “Yancy Street” line isn’t a joke—it’s strategy. Doom knows Wakanda won’t easily trust Reed’s intelligence or Johnny’s attitude.
But they might trust someone grounded and human.
Inside the ship, Reed, Sue, and Johnny stay hidden. And deeper inside, Doom waits.
The Fantastic Four explain the incursion crisis. Then they reveal the real mission: Monica Rambeau. Two universes are colliding because Monica exists in the wrong reality. She has become a living bridge between dimensions. If she isn’t returned, both universes will collapse. Wakanda matters because vibranium can stabilize dimensional gateways.
Shuri understands the science immediately. That’s the mistake. Her curiosity keeps her from getting suspicious. She agrees to help. She boards the ship carrying Wakanda’s most advanced vibranium schematics, believing she’s saving multiple universes. M’Baku watches with pride. Namor watches with doubt. The ramp closes. The ship leaves Earth-616.
Inside the ship, the truth is already there. Franklin Richards is on board—contained, studied, not as a child but as a power source. Reed feels something is off. Sue senses it. Johnny notices the tension. But Doom has already won Act 1, not with force but with necessity.
Everyone thinks they’re preventing disaster. Doom knows he caused it.
When the ship reaches Earth-10005, everything changes. Sentinels patrol the skies. Mutants hide. The X-Men don’t treat Monica as a threat. They see her as someone who belongs there—a protector, not a problem.
That’s when Doom reveals the truth. He never came to negotiate. He came to claim.
Using Wakandan vibranium, Franklin’s reality-shaping powers, and the existing Sentinel infrastructure, Doom upgrades the X-Men universe’s greatest weapon into his first multiversal army—not Doombots, not variants, but their own machines turned against them.
Act 1 ends without a fight. The Fantastic Four were never the heroes—they were used. Act 2 begins when the Avengers and Fantastic Four face the X-Men because Doom planned it that way.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
