New Doctor Doom and Hulk Scene in ‘Endgame – Encore’ Sets Up ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame – Encore is hitting theaters this week, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the movie will connect to the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. The film features additional footage that helps set up Avengers: Doomsday, and a recent leak claims that the Hulk will meet Doctor Doom in the movie.

Last month, an insider confirmed that Mark Ruffalo had filmed scenes as Bruce Banner/Hulk for a Marvel project. It’s now reportedly revealed that the footage is part of the additional scenes for Avengers: Endgame – Encore.

According to filmmaker and editor Robert Meyer Burnett, Ruffalo’s Hulk and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom have a new scene together in Avengers: Endgame – Encore.

Avengers: Endgame – Encore will feature a new intro, bonus scenes, and an end sequence that connects directly to Avengers: Doomsday. It is rumored to be seven minutes longer than the original.

Recently, Disney confirmed that the Avengers: Doomsday exclusive look shown during Avengers: Endgame – Encore screenings will only be available to audiences watching the film on IMAX and Infinity Vision-certified screens.

Speaking to Fandango, the Russo Brothers said Avengers: Endgame – Encore will be required viewing for Avengers: Doomsday.

Joe Russo said the additional footage “is going to connect the story of the two movies” and that there is a natural progression from Endgame into Doomsday. He also explained that watching Endgame in theaters again will be important for following the story of Doomsday.

Anthony Russo added, “If you saw Endgame when it was originally released, you couldn’t see this coming.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame is the grand conclusion to the first decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film picks up after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, as the Avengers unite to take one final stand against Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame – Encore is projected to open with $20–30 million domestically, based on current pre-sale tracking. The film arrives in theaters on September 25, 2026.
