New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Leak Reveals Doctor Doom’s Plan for Hulk

The Avengers: Endgame Encore post-credits scene reveals a direct connection to Avengers: Doomsday. Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk is confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday. It is almost confirmed that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is kidnapping everyone who has traveled through time, starting with Bruce Banner.

What’s the real plan for Doom? Is he recruiting Hulk to join his Latverian army, or is he going to punish him for making time travel possible in Avengers: Endgame? There’s a chance that Banner could be mind-controlled by Doom using his magic runes. Even though Hulk will have a minor role in Avengers: Doomsday, he could have a bigger role in Avengers: Secret Wars.

In the Avengers: Endgame – Encore post-credits scene, following the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner is in a high-tech bunker three kilometers underground, in self-isolation at a joint military base while experimenting with a new gamma-suppressant serum. Suddenly, Doctor Doom appears in the room, and Hulk starts roaring.

Banner: “Log… uh, I don’t even know what number we’re on anymore. Day… a lot. This is Bruce Banner. Location: Joint containment facility, three kilometers down. No windows, no visitors, no exits that I didn’t design myself. After what happened in New York… after Brand New Day… I can’t risk it again. Hulk doesn’t get out. Nobody gets in. That’s the deal.

“I’ve been running isolation protocols and testing a new gamma-suppressant serum. Early results are… promising. If I can keep the other guy locked down long enough, maybe I can actually finish the work. Maybe I can walk outside again without turning a city block into a crater.”

He looks at the camera, tired.

“I just want to be useful without being a weapon. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

The lights flicker. The camera feed glitches. A faint green glow appears behind him. Banner turns.

Banner: “Who are you?”

Doctor Doom (off-screen, voice only): “Mr. Banner. I’m here to collect you.”

Banner starts to transform. A roar follows as green light floods the room. The camera drops to the floor. When the light fades, Banner and the visitor are gone. A glowing green Latverian sigil is burned into the concrete.

Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
