Jonah Hauer-King revealed that “Halle Bailey is just extraordinary” in ‘The Little Mermaid‘. According to Hauer-King, Bailey is an “extraordinary” actress who is able to carry the weight of the film on her shoulders “gracefully.” He also praises her as an incredible friend, both in front of and behind the camera. Hauer-King goes on to say that he believes people will be amazed by Bailey’s performance in the film.

Hauer-King said, “She is so talented. She carries the weight of this film [The Little Mermaid] on her shoulders so gracefully. She was an incredible friend to me, both in front of and behind the camera. People will be amazed by her.”
The film is a live-action adaptation of the Disney classic “The Little Mermaid.” Directed by Rob Marshall from a screenplay written by David Magee. The film also stars Daveed Diggs, Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay, Noma Dumezweni, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy.
During the recent Little Mermaid press release issued by Disney, director Rob Marshall explains why the live-action film reworked the lyrics to “Kiss the Girl” (Via CBR): “We asked [lyricist] Lin-Manuel [Miranda] to make some slight adjustments to the original lyrics for ‘Kiss the Girl.'” He added, “Because it’s important to remember that the culture and sensitivities have changed over the last 34 years, and it’s vital that we are respectful to those changes.”

The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
The Little Mermaid will hit theaters on May 26, 2023.
