Akiva Goldsman, the writer of the ‘I Am Legend‘ sequel, revealed that he had started writing the script before the writers’ strike.
Goldsman says he couldn’t continue writing due to the strike but said he intended to work on the ‘I Am Legend 2‘ and ‘Constantine 2‘ scripts once the strike was over.

During an interview with the Bingeworthy Podcast, Akiva Goldsman discussed his latest Apple TV+ show, ‘The Crowded Room,’ which stars Tom Holland and is streaming now on Apple TV+. Goldsman also mentioned his involvement in writing the scripts for ‘I Am Legend’ with Will Smith and ‘Constantine’ with Keanu Reeves.
He said, “My pens are down, so there’s nothing to do. But, yeah, those are the next things I’m writing when I’m allowed to write again. And I had already begun ‘[I Am] Legend 2’ when we started striking, and Frances Lawrence, Keanu Reeves, and I have broken ‘Constantine 2.’ I just haven’t started typing yet.“
‘I Am Legend 2’ Confirmed: Sequel to Ignore Original Ending
In February 2023, it was announced that a sequel to ‘I Am Legend’ was in development. The sequel will not follow the original theatrical ending but instead continue from the alternate ending where Will Smith’s character survives.
