A24 released the first trailer for Alex Garland‘s ‘Civil War,’ starring Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sonoya Mizuno, Jesse Plemons, and Nick Offerman. Watch the trailer below.
The trailer reveals 19 states seceding, heightened U.S. army activity, and mentions of ‘Western Forces’ in California and Texas and the ‘Florida Alliance.’ President Offerman vows swift action against the uprising, while Dunst leads a team of journalists trying to enter the U.S. Capitol.
The film is written and directed by Garland. The story takes place in the United States in the not-so-distant future and has been dubbed a combination road movie, satirical war film, and elevated shooter.
A24, along with Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich of DNA, and Gregory Goodman, will produce ‘Civil War’ and oversee its global release.
‘Civil War’ will hit theaters on April 26, 2024, by A24.
