It’s not Chris Evans who will lead the Avengers as Captain in the upcoming Avengers movies. Anthony Mackie‘s Captain America will be one of the leaders for the Avengers in the upcoming Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
The latest Q&A with Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus revealed that Sam Wilson, who will create a group of new Avengers members in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ will also be part of ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’.
Marvel’s Upcoming Avengers Films to Connect with ‘Secret Wars,’ ‘Time Runs Out,’ and ‘Ultimate End,’ Featuring New Heroes
According to the source, Marvel Comics’ ‘Secret Wars,’ ‘Time Runs Out,’ and ‘Ultimate End‘ will be connected to the upcoming Avengers films. Kamala Khan, Monica Rambeau, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, Loki, the TVA, Sylvie, and the new Guardians of the Galaxy will likely appear. There are rumors about Star-Lord forming the Annihilators.

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is hitting theaters on February 14, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. The story concept is President Ross’s (Harrison Ford‘s) assassination attempt, the Adamantium race, and the Red Hulk. The film also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ was announced during the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, with Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Doctor Doom and The Russo Brothers returning to direct the film from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
As I reported in Doomsday, Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom isn’t truly evil; he believes he is trying to save the Multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the Multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place (the Battleworld) under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
Filming for the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will begin in London in the second quarter of 2025. As per Variety, Marvel Studios will pay Anthony and Joe Russo around $80 million, while Downey Jr. will be paid “significantly more” — this does not include back-end compensation for the eventual box office. The brothers will also produce the two films via their AGBO banner.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to be released on May 1, 2026, and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will be released on May 7, 2027.
